A fin with a moderate rake of 3.63" and a tapered tip. But he massive 8.39" base is the noticeable feature. This gives the board appreciable drive. And the tapered tip gives flex when exiting that turn.

Created originally for our single fin High Performance longboards that have narrowish tails and hard rails. The HP fin has a full sized base for great drive, a considerable amount of rake and a significant reduction in the neck area that creates the "wag” that these fins are renowned for. The "wag" flexes like the tail of a shark when you enter a turn, then snaps back, producing an unprecedented thrust when you exit the turn. In addition we have found that it makes a fine fin to loosen up boards like the Banana, San-O, and Rapier in small surf.

Developed to enhance the performance of longboards with tails wider than 15" whether they have hard or soft tail rails. They have a full base for drive and lots of area that has been reduced in the neck for ease of turn. And the tip area has plenty of expanse for stability and hold for those long nose rides.

Do not be fooled by the name, as this fin has some very good design features that remain timeless. The shape was developed in the late 1970's, and the SI fin has been delivered on Bananas, San-O's and Rapiers since their inception, with their amazing success. Just enough rake to rotate properly, and enough base for plenty of snap out of turn.
